Our Team

Andy officially joined Benken Garden Center and Florist team in 2024, following a remarkable 24-year career in education. Leveraging his extensive background, he aims to assist his wife, Lindsay, in guiding the business while promoting a collaborative and thriving atmosphere. In his free time, Andy enjoys birdwatching, tending to the Benken property, and hitting the golf course.

John carries on the family legacy as a 4th generation grower at Benken Garden Center and Florist. With over 30 years of experience, his deep-rooted knowledge of horticulture and commitment to quality ensure that the plants and flowers offered are of the highest standard, making him a cornerstone of the operation. John enjoys spending time with his three children and creating a magical garden space in his own yard. 

Since joining Benken Garden Center and Florist in late 1998, Janet has embraced various roles within the team. Widely regarded as a cornerstone of the organization, she is instrumental in keeping business operations running smoothly and efficiently, drawing on her extensive knowledge and experience. Outside of work, Janet enjoys photography, spending quality time with family, and staying active at the gym. 

Maria joined Benken in 2020 and quickly became known for her passion for houseplants and native flora. She loves welcoming customers and their pets to the garden center, bringing her infectious energy and passion for plants to every interaction. As a serial hobbyist, she is always exploring new interests. 

Natalie became part of the team in 2024 and brings a high level of attention to detail to her role in the business office. Married with three children, she lives in White Oak and is a long-time family friend of the owners. Her organizational skills and dedication make her an invaluable asset to the team. 

Megan brings her creative flair to the marketing and graphic design department at Benken. She is passionate about crafting visually appealing content that highlights all Benken’s offerings, engaging the community and enhancing the brand’s presence. 

Jackie joined Benken in 2005 and has over 45 years of experience in the floral industry. Professionally trained, she enjoys creating artistic arrangements and is passionate about card making through various mediums. In her free time, Jackie loves hiking, theater, jazzercise, and has been a Broadway subscriber for 30 years. 

Joining the team in 2013, Robin brings over 30 years of floral industry experience. As a mother of four and grandmother of six, she enjoys sewing and takes pride in her role as the wedding lead at Benken, helping brides bring their floral dreams to life. 

Emilia is a passionate house plant enthusiast and a dynamic digital creator with a knack for marketing. She combines her love for plants with her creative flair, inspiring others to embrace greenery in their homes. Through her engaging content, Emilia shares tips, tricks, and insights on plant care, promoting a lifestyle that celebrates nature and well-being. With a vibrant online presence, she connects with fellow plant lovers and cultivates a thriving community dedicated to the joys of indoor gardening. 

Joining the team in 2023, Olivia is a talented floral designer at Benken Garden Center and Florist, where she infuses her creativity and passion for flowers into every arrangement. Her artistic flair enables her to craft beautiful and distinctive designs for all occasions. Outside of work, Olivia enjoys spending time with her family and playing with her dog, Ella. As the daughter of Andy and Lindsay, she proudly represents the fifth generation of her family to contribute to the business. 

New to the team in 2024, Kaylee passionately combines her love for art and flowers in her floral design work. An avid hiker with her dog, Cali, she also enjoys pressed flower art as a hobby and is a dedicated beekeeper and gardener, showcasing her connection to nature in all she does.
