Prune Like A Pro – Educational Speaking Event

Join us at Benken on March 4 at 6pm for a free educational talk led by one of Benken’s favorite plant experts, Doug Young. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just getting started, this informative session will walk you through the how, when, and where of pruning with confidence.

Doug will break down what to prune—and what to leave alone—along with the best times of year to prune different plants and the reasoning behind it all. You’ll gain practical, easy-to-follow guidance that helps promote healthier growth, better blooms, and long-term plant success in your landscape.

Coffee Cupping Event with Proud Hound Coffee

We’re so excited to collaborate with our local friends, Proud Hound Coffee Roasters, to bring you our first ever coffee education events at Benken!

Join us for an immersive coffee experience designed to delight all five senses. Our Coffee Education & Tasting Demo invites you to slow down, sip thoughtfully, and learn what truly goes into a great cup of coffee.

During this guided demo, we’ll explore the full journey of coffee—from roasting and importing to processing, brewing, and tasting. Along the way, you’ll learn how to identify flavor profiles and tasting notes while enjoying a hands-on, sensory-rich experience perfect for both casual coffee drinkers and true enthusiasts.

Each session is intentionally capped at just 16 guests to create a relaxed, intimate setting where questions are encouraged and conversation flows easily.

Bunny Brunch Workshop

Hop on over for this family-friendly workshop! Attendees can get their hands dirty creating their very own garden planter fit for the Easter Bunny’s next meal! This is a fun workshop for all ages. Each participant will be planting their own Bunny Brunch Pot with the help of our dedicated staff. Fee includes the pot, soil, parsley, beet, kale and lettuce plants! Yummy!

Peter’s Petals Floral Arranging Workshop

Celebrate the sweetness of the season at Peter’s Petals, a festive spring floral arranging workshop designed to welcome brighter days and blooming gardens.

In this hands-on class, participants will learn the art of creating a lush, garden-inspired centerpiece — perfect for your Easter table or spring gatherings. Guided step-by-step by our floral designers, you’ll explore balance, texture, and color while working with a beautiful seasonal palette.

Your finished arrangement will feature:

A charming moss bunny statue nestled among the blooms
Elegant iris
Cloud-like hydrangea
Cheerful Hypericum berries
Textural ruscus
Romantic spray roses
Additional fresh seasonal stems to complete your design
